    Ticket Donation FAQ

Common questions from donors, season ticket holders, and venues about giving unused tickets to TixGiving Foundation Inc.

What kinds of tickets can I donate?

Unused tickets to upcoming concerts, sporting events, theater, and family shows in the United States. The event must still be in the future at the time we receive the donation.

My tickets are in the Ticketmaster app and cannot be downloaded. Can I still donate?

Yes. Choose the mobile transfer option when you submit. You keep the tickets in your account until we approve the donation, then transfer them to the destination we give you. No photo is required for mobile transfer donations.

    Do I need an account?

Yes. IRS substantiation requires that a receipt be issued to a named donor with a verifiable record, so ticket donations cannot be made anonymously.

    What happens to my tickets?

We place them with vetted 501(c)(3) partner organizations that serve people in the venue's area, such as youth programs, veterans groups, and family services. The final recipient is the only party who ever sees the live barcode.

What if there is no partner near the venue?

We tell you before you finish submitting. Coverage is strongest where we have approved partners; if a venue's state has none, the tickets may sit unplaced, and we would rather you know that up front.

    How much is my deduction?

That is your determination, not ours. You state the fair market value when you submit. See our tax deductibility guide for the IRS substantiation thresholds at $250, $500, and $5,000.

When do I get my receipt?

You get an acknowledgment letter when the donation is approved, and a final tax receipt after the tickets are placed and the event has occurred. Both are downloadable any time from your account.

I am a venue or season ticket holder with 50 to 100 seats. Is there a bulk option?

Yes. Approved venue donors can upload a CSV manifest and the approval documentation includes a full seat-by-seat manifest. Contact us to be enabled.

Can I donate money instead of tickets?

Yes. Monetary donations fund ticket placement and transportation for the families we serve, and generate an immediate tax receipt.

Are you the same as TixGiving.com?

No. TixGiving Foundation Inc. is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit. TixGiving.com is a separate technology company. They are distinct legal entities and no financial credentials are shared between them.
